Communication, image and behaviour in one single method.

The C(h)IC® Method is an integrated approach that brings together the visual, communicative and behavioural dimensions, to guide individuals, professionals and organisations in building an image consistent with their identity and their goals.

Image is a communication system.

The C(h)IC® Method grew out of experience in image consulting and communication.

Observing people and professional contexts showed that perception is not determined by appearance alone, but by all the signals a person sends through image, language, presence and behaviour.

Image is therefore seen as a complex communication system. The C(h)IC® Method was born from this vision.

The C(h)IC® name

The name combines an evocative element with a methodological meaning. The spelling recalls the French word chic, associated with elegance, harmony and the ability to express one's identity through style. Within the method it takes on a proprietary meaning: the brackets around the letter “h” are a distinctive graphic choice that keeps the reference to the word “chic” while incorporating the model's acronym.

It includes every element through which a person expresses their identity: verbal language, paraverbal language, non-verbal communication, presence, relationships.

It answers the question: what do I want to convey?

It is the person's visual language: colours, shapes, style, proportions, details, grooming.

It answers the question: how do I want to be perceived?

It is the way we make our identity tangible: attitude, posture, presence, relationships, etiquette, professionalism.

It answers the question: how do I show what I stand for?

“Making the identity of a person or an organisation visible through a consistent, authentic and conscious presence.”

Every person has a unique identity. The role of image is to make that identity readable and consistent through what we show, what we say and the way we act.
